Showreel
I decided to make multiple different showreels.
This way I could show specifics of my personality and work.
On top of this I made a full showreel
Showreel Ident
I was struggling to make my ident for the showreel because I wanted it to look like my older 2 showreels but I ended up doing something different.
On After Effects using the shape tool I made a rectangle with a light blue fill and a dark blue stroke. I then used rotation and scale keyframes to make it fly in. The last step was to copy this and paste it multiple times with around 15 frames in between them. This gave it a nice trail effect
I made a much simpler version for the sub/specific showreels. This one used a few masks and the pen tool to create a swipe across the screen
Personal Statement
Jobs Market
When looking at jobs I looked at the website APA (Advertising Producers Association)
JOB1: Mid-Tier Video Editor
The first job I looked at was to be a Mid -Tier Video Editor. I was immediately drawn to this one because it was the only one I saw that had me take a more hands on role and actually edit things. I went to their website to see what they had worked on and they had created multiple different adverts for brands like casillero del diablo, galbani and arlo, all of which are adverts i've seen on tv. In order to get the job they have a few expectations and needs of their employees.
Edited multiple different styles of content
I'm competent in after effects but could be a lot better
Comfortable using After Effects, quick to learn new things
Skilled in 2D animation with experience in 3D animation
Been in post production multiple times, not on industry scale
Delivered files to colourists and sound mixers in short film
Very basic understanding, Trying to learn more
Worked in a group multiple times throughout the course
Intrigued to learn more techniques, up to date with current trends
I feel like I would be able to work for this company if i was given another year or two to develop my skills in software, especially given how competitive the job would be
JOB 2: Runner/Receptionist/Social Media Manager
I also looked at this job for eclectic. The main traction towards this job was being a social media manager. I feel like I'm quite good at understanding current trends on social media. I also think that i'd be able to bring good traction towards the company if i was in charge of the social media. Even more I think that being a social media manager for a company would be incredibly fun. The other parts of the job don't seem to bad. Running and Reception work is a good way to get into the industry

Final Portfolio
When making my Porfolio I decided to make a Website in order to showcase both my showreels and my written behind the scenes work. Like how I do for this website.
I made this moving banner for my website because I thought it would look quite slick and showcase my work. I also wanted an image of myself however I dont have many good ones so the one with me holding the Blåhaj (The Shark) was my choice of photo. In a way I think this photo shows some of my personality
When showing some of my behind the scenes work I decided to copy some of my better bits of work from this website over to my portfolio website. I also included some sample scripts and Pitches to show more my creative process.
